Where are the libraries?

The main library, JFK Library, is located on the Cheney Campus on the Quad.

The Riverpoint Campus Library is located on the 2nd floor of the Academic Center of the Riverpoint Campus in Spokane.

What are the hours for the libraries?

 

JFK Library Hours - Fall/Winter/Spring Quarter (subject to change)

Mon-Thurs: 7:30am-10pm
Friday: 7:30am-6pm
Saturday: 12pm-5pm
Sunday: 1pm-9pm

Riverpoint Campus Library Hours

Mon-Thurs: 8am-9pm
Friday: 8am-5pm
Saturday: 9pm-5pm
Sunday: 1pm-6pm

How do I contact the libraries?

For JFK Library, the Circulation Desk is 509-359-7888, and the Reference Desk is 509-359-2263.

For the Riverpoint Campus Library, call 509-358-7930.

How can I access databases from off-campus?

 

Students:

Log in with your NetID username and password. This username/password is the same one that you use to log into campus computers, wireless network, NetStorage, etc. This in not your EagleNET account for class registration. If you have not set your NetID password, go to accounts.ewu.edu.

Faculty / Staff:

Log in using your EWU email username and password.

How can I get a library account to check out stuff?

Your EagleCard is your library card. Just bring it with you to the Circulation Desk, on the Main Level in the JFK Library, and on the 2nd floor at the Riverpoint Campus Library.

How can I renew materials I have checked out?

You may renew EWU materials twice, unless it is a video/dvd, or someone else has placed a hold on the item. Log into the EWU Library Catalog with your NetID to see what books you have checked out, and self-renew books. See Renew Materials for more information and more options.

How can I view the status of my requested materials?

  • For materials requested in the EWU WorldCat Catalog from a Summit library, login to your Summit account (the same as your NetID username/password).
  • For materials requested via Interlibrary Loan, login to your Interlibrary Loan account (the same as your NetID username/password). Any outstanding requests will display on the first page.

    Where can I study? Do you have group study rooms?

    The JFK Library has lots of study carrels and tables scattered throughout the building. There are 12 group study rooms. 7 on the lower level, and 5 on the upper level. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, except the 3 larger rooms (L20, U30, and U34), which can be reserved ahead of time. Contact the Circulation Desk 359-7888 or ewu.circulation@ewu.edu to make a reservation. See Policy on Group Study Rooms for more information.

    Where can I leave a comment or suggestion for the library?

    To leave comments, questions, suggestions, or complaints visit the library student liaison page and click the link for comments/suggestions at the bottom of the page.

    You can also fill out a comment card at the comment boxes in the lobby of JFK Library and Riverpoint Campus Library. Or fill out a policy review request at the Circulation Desk at the JFK Library.

    How many books and periodicals do the libraries have?

    EWU Libraries have over one million items: over 750,000 titles and over 50,000 online or print periodicals. See Library Facts for more information.

    I’m looking for something fun to read. Where’s the fiction section?

    JFK Library has the "Bestsellers & Good Reads" collection located in the Thirsty Minds coffee shop on the main level. Also be sure to check out the New Books area on the main level, next to the Reference Desk.

    Fiction can be found in the P’s on the upper level. If you have a particular author in mind, use the Library Catalog

    I think the library ought to have a copy of x. How can I suggest a title be purchased?

    See Suggest a Purchase. This form can be filled out by students, staff, faculty, and community users.

    I think I left something in the library. Where is lost and found?

    The JFK Library maintains a lost and found service, located at the Circulation Desk. Contact them at (509) 359-7888 or ewu.circulation@ewu.edu. Please be prepared to show your picture ID when you claim lost articles. You will be asked to sign for your claimed article on a log sheet.

    If you are at the Riverpoint Campus Library, lost and found is also at the Circulation Desk. Call (509) 358-7930.
